Some Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide audit services in accordance with audit standards to assist the credit union in achieving its objectives.
  • Support CAE in providing assurance that governance processes are in place to achieve objectives and to support the credit union’s strategy.
  •  Act as lead auditor and supervise the work of other less experienced auditors. Perform annual performance reviews.
  •  Coordinate the mortgage lending quality control activities.
  • Provide assurance that the practices for the development, testing and implementation of project initiatives meet the credit union’s strategies and objectives. 


  • EDUCATION: Must have a four-year degree in Accounting or related business field such as Finance or Economics.  
  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum of seven years auditing experience. Financial Institution experience preferred. (CIA or CPA Preferred, other designations or certifications may be considered.)
  • SUPERVISORY SKILLS: Must possess the ability to coach and mentor skills that facilitate collaboration in a team environment.
  • INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE: Working knowledge of auditing policies, procedures and regulations required.
  • COMMUNICATION: Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as, strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • SOFTWARE: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access desired.
  • OTHER: Must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Must be able to adapt to a flexible schedule. Must comply with personnel policies established by the Board of Directors.
