Job Description Summary:

AmeriCU Services LLC has an exciting opportunity available! The Licensed Member Insurance Adisor (CSR or Customer Service Representative) will service and support the full range of IIRS insurance products/services and operations for new and existing accounts through personal interviews, telephone conversations or written correspondence. The perfect candidate will also meet with clients/prospects to make sales! 

While this position is based out of AmeriCU's Griffiss Financial Center, there may be opportunity to work in a North Syracuse Office.

Some Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Acquires and maintains a working knowledge of CUO procedures, systems and required paperwork. Performs transactions, such as, but not limited to telephone inquiries, appointment setting, information gathering, typing, filing, and various administrative tasks.
  • Aside from cross selling to obtain new business for the agency: the MIA has a new business goal met by calling on referrals , gathering information, providing the quote and making the sale. Referrals must be called on in the time allotted on our service level agreement.
  • Initiates service calls in person or via phone and follows through on customer questions, complaints or requests for information. Offers product information and/and makes referrals to producers.
  • Prepares, processes, reviews and monitors various documents such as premiums, coverage of risk, policies, renewals, claims, applications, changes, endorsements, binders, etc. to ensure completeness and accuracy of information contained on all forms prior to submission for processing. Endorsement and download follow up. Creates certificates and binders as needed. Looks for cross selling opportunities and acts upon them.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school education, or equivalent, with good Math and English skills. Several higher education courses or certificate in a related field are required.
  • Must possess a minimum of three-years insurance customer service and/or sales experience. Must project a professional image, have proven initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Knowledge of insurance forms and terminology, and/or investment experience strongly preferred.
  • Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet use required.
  • Notary Public designation desirable.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Must possess/maintain New York State Property and Casualty Insurance Licenses.
  • Life & Accident/Health Insurance License optional.
