Job Description Summary:

AmeriCU has an exciting part time opportunity available! Read on to learn more about the Item Processing Operator position.

Some Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Serves as an Item Processing Operator performing check processing work in an accurate and timely manner. Work is subject to review and/or audit on a no-notice basis by Management, Supervisory Committee, auditors and/or State Banking Department examiners.
  • Supports the department in implementing the strategic goals and objectives established by management
  • Performs item repair and balancing of all check bundles processed in Image Center system for distribution to FRB for deposit nightly.
  • Performs disaster recovery processing when Image Center is down and places appropriate service calls.
  • Notifies Manager Accounting and Electronic Services, of any malfunction of system, prolonged periods of deferred checks.    
  • Places service calls, as required. Keeps logbook of all service calls (both hardware and software).
  • Verifies scanning quality to ensure good check image quality in nightly files. Balances all in-coming checks and bonds received back to Symitar check totals.
  • Notifies Manager Accounting and Electronic Services of any discrepancies found.


  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Windows-based Personal Computer background is required.
  • Incumbent must possess the skill to operate a ten-key adding machine accurately and efficiently.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to work regardless of weather.
