Regional Member Relationship Advisor (Member Service Representative)

Job Description Summary:

AmeriCU is looking for a Regional MRA*! The purpose of this role is to develop, manage and expand relationships with members and potential members by providing professional and quality member service and sales that meets or exceeds member expectations. To promote and sell a full range of financial products and services based on evaluating the member needs.

*This position is the equivalent of a Member Service Representative or Personal Banker at other Financial Institutions.

Some Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish, retain and deepen relationships with members and potential members through sales while providing quality member service.
  • Provide a superior level of service and fully support all members and staff
  • Cross-sell and/or receive consumer loan application requests as presented at the Financial Center and inputs into system. Underwrite (approves/denies/counter offers) loan requests based on policies and procedures. Responds to member queries when loans have been denied giving explanation for disapproval.
  • Cross-sell and/or receive Home Equity loan application requests & inputs into system either Xcluso or Symitar, based on type of application. Perform Home Equity Closing(s)
  • Receives Credit Card application as requested at the Financial Center and other channels. Inputs and underwrites credit card applications.
  • Ensures that current loan policies are strictly adhered to.
  • Must maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all Consumer Loan Underwriting Guidelines and Procedures.
  • Professionally and efficiently offer and sell appropriate financial services and products. Recognize and refer cross-sell opportunities, including insurance and investment referrals, or member business service referrals, to meet member needs and develop and expand account relationships
  • Ensures proper application of all Federal, State and Corporation Laws, and Guidelines in the dispensing of various loans. 


  • Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Two year minimum of member service experience and/or sales background. Must project a professional image.
  • Lending experience preferred.
  • If acting as a Mortgage Loan Originator, (MLO) will be required to be registered in the National Mortgage Licensing Registry. (NMLR)
  • Effective customer service and problem resolution skills and the ability to maintain a high level of quality of member service and sales standards is a must.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other PC applications.
  • Strong sales, communication (oral and written), cross-selling and analytical skill and techniques.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule. Able to work on Saturdays. 
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to cover other financial centers within the assigned region and other regions of the credit union as needed.  Proper mileage reimbursement will apply if working at FC other than assigned home FC, according to mileage policy guidelines.  Travel time will be compensated for when traveling outside assigned region.
