Job Description Summary:

AmeriCU is looking for a professional to develop, manage and expand relationships with members and potential members by providing quality member service and sales that exceed member expectations. Please note that this position is similar to that of a Member Service Representative or Personal Banker.

Some Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Performs servicing and account maintenance activities, for both personal and commercial accounts such as; account inquires, transactions, address changes, wires, ACH and check stop payments, check orders, visa check card inquiries/disputes, re-order VCC, VCC Pin changes, payroll distributions, TeleLink, direct deposit, preference access record creations, home banking, research requests, and auto transfer opening of certificates of deposits and renew, review and education of Member Privilege overdraft program, loan change requests, loan payment corrections, resolution of any account issues, etc.
  • Receive Consumer Loan application requests via telephone, inputting into system. Provides loan decision to member and responds to member queries when loans have been denied, giving explanation for disapproval.
  • Receive Home Equity loan application requests & inputting into system either Xcluso or Symitar based on type of application.
  • Cross sell Home Equity Loan and Consumer Loan products that best meet member needs.
  • Receives Credit Card Applications via telephone and mail, inputting into system.
  • Ensures that current loan policies are strictly adhered to.
  • Must maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all Consumer Loan Underwriting Guidelines and Procedures.
  • Meets or exceed loan and deposit goals along with all other goals/referrals assigned to employee, which support the “Balanced Scorecard KPI’s”.
  • Serve as level one loan officer. (Upon successful completion of loan officer training, loan officer mentoring and proof of knowledge). Approval by Board of Directors is required.
  • Review loan files for asset quality and completeness.
  • Ensures proper application of all Federal, State and Corporation Laws, and Guidelines in the dispensing of various loans.


  • Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Two year minimum of member service experience and/or sales background. Must project a professional image.
  • Lending experience preferred
  • If acting as a Mortgage Loan Originator, (MLO), will be required to be registered in the National Mortgage Licensing Registry. (NMLR)
  • Effective customer service and problem resolution skills and the ability to maintain a high level of quality of member service and sales standards is a must.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other PC applications.
  • Strong sales, communication (oral and written), cross-selling and analytical skill.
  • Able to work on Saturdays and off hours as needed.
